Pro-tip: Of course they do. Just like literally everything, from crime to learning a new language, previous events and data always matter. Elections can only be stolen in a few ways, electronic or people, so past successful efforts to secure those ways are obviously relevant.

Because it's sharing a fact-based consensus that aligns with what one party is saying and not the other? It just means that one side has it right. I've seen plenty of anecdotes about scattered instances of voter fraud but never a study that indicated it was endemic.

But I will give you this. Statements like "nonpartisan investigations of previous elections have found that voter fraud is exceedingly rare" should include links. Given our current political culture it would do a lot to build better consensus.
