It's the ILLUSION of reason that is the problem. For example, believing you can tell which experts or data are reliable. It isn't a thing beyond the most simple, such as Q being bullshit. But if you think the "news" is real in 2020, you haven't paid attention.

Which is why the scientific method exists -- because humans can't "reason" their way to knowledge by observation and reading up on stuff alone.

I'm saying it exists to remove illusions such as the one you are laboring under now. And you agree. Your powers of reason are failing you (or me?) right now, which is my point. Reason is mostly illusion the way we use it in practice.
