Has any "expert" on American elections declared that the 2020 election had to be fair because it would be effectively IMPOSSIBLE to steal an election with all of our local safeguards?

@beckerdavidj asserts this was the fairest most transparent election ever. And he thought the same of 2016. And he's an expert.

The question is whether fraud is POSSIBLE. Partisans are guessing.

I’d really hope you listen to experts on this. More paper ballots, more identity validation, more audits, more bipartisan observation and transparency, than ever before. Widespread fraud is not possible and didn’t happen, just as it didn’t in 2016. And 2020 was even more secure.

Hypothetically, if I listened to someone who confessed to successfully rigging an election In this country, could I call that person an "expert"?

Hypothetically, I’m sorry that by your stated standard, you don’t believe Trump’s victory in 2016 was legitimate, due to hypothetical, unproved, and rare fraud. I do not agree. Trump won a fair election in 2016. He lost a fair election in 2020.

I don't believe any American election has been fraud-free. Why would I believe that? Dems probably under-cheated Republicans in 2016.

Well, a good reason to believe that fraud is insignificant is that a major political party holding all branches of govt and a majority of states had immense incentives to find evidence to support that allegation and instead has repeatedly failed, going back years and years now.
