Some of the smaller brands are pretty good at standardizing. Less teams working in silos. I love researching fit data-it’s difficult but fascinating to fit mass market clothing. 20 years now and I still love it!

Make an appeals to NIST, they’re government authorized by semi independent. They could make the standard then leave it up to manufacturers to adopt. New companies would probably adopt first and old companies last since new companies don’t have time to develop their own

My dad worked in clothing industry most of his career. He told me it was very common to "resize" clothing. If they didn't have enough Mediums to fill an order, they would relabel the Larges to Medium and ship those. I recently experienced this first hand with Lands End.
