Prediction: Sometime around December-January, the news will start reporting that the "regular flu" never really killed 50-80,000 people per year in U.S. (You might know of COVID-19 deaths in your circle, but I'll bet you've never heard of a regular flu death in your life.)

We have had close calls with flu esp in 2009, a good portion of friends were hospitalized... not one person I know hospitalized from covid.

But no deaths from regular flu, which is my point.

Covid deaths will no longer be novel once a readily available vaccine is on the market.

I bet if we coded any death of a person who had the flu a "flu death" the way we do with covid you would.

Most likely would have had pneumonia listed on death certificate instead of flu. Which would be more accurate than general “flu”

Scott, Scott, Scott.. in winter months more people die than in summer. These excess deaths are called death from the flu. It doesn’t matter if they die from a bronchitis, pneumonia or from the regular flu. But they die. Those deaths are real.

Is that the distinction between death from/with Influenza? Aka The straw that broke the camel’s back.
