Prediction: Sometime around December-January, the news will start reporting that the "regular flu" never really killed 50-80,000 people per year in U.S. (You might know of COVID-19 deaths in your circle, but I'll bet you've never heard of a regular flu death in your life.)

One of my best friends died from complications of the flu 5 years ago. I didn't call for a shutdown of our country.

I was assuming you were being facetious, but I just wanted the fact was out there.

Flu is higher risk for children than covid. Covid is a cold for kids.

I was terrified of H1N1... but I don't recall knowing anyone who died from it or got it.

I got h1n1, the most recent pandemic, panic in the news, worrisome loss of life, rush to vaccine, whole shooting match. Was Barely unpleasant, which they would know cuz it hit China Australia etc. Just a way to soak to govt for vaccine money far as I could see.
