I recommend replacing statues of slave-owners and Confederate generals with monuments honoring citizens who had criminal records and died while resisting arrest. It won't solve all of our problems, but I haven't heard anyone suggest a better idea.

Most people violently resisting arrest are career thugs. They deserve contempt, not monuments.

That’s right. Violently resisting or legitimate threat to one’s safety. Not everyone that talks back to a cop is a thug.
