I wonder if BLM knows Antifa was allied with Hitler and helped him come to power. It feels as if that would be a source of tension, given BLM's focus on history. Does Antifa owe reparations to anyone who lost a family member or property to Nazi Germany?

I think you're confusing the KPD and Antifaschistische Aktion. The latter literally opposed the Nazis it seems. The former had an uneasy alliance for a short period.

Antifaschistische Aktion and Hitler both opposed the German government while not being fans of each other. Same as the U.S. and Stalin being on the same side in WW2 but not friends.

You mean the KPD. Not Antifaschistische Aktion. The Antifas were literally the result of previous enemies across the left wing coming together to battle the greater threat of Nazism. It's true that Thälmann once thought Nazism could help their cause – but that predates Antifa.

Yeah you already sent me that. You should consider taking down your initial post. It's inaccurate.

It's as accurate as saying today's Antifa and BLM are allies because they temporarily have a common enemy. They are also mortal enemies because Antifa would destroy any form of capitalism as fascism, including the Bernie Sanders kind that is presumably popular with BLM.

So... you're suggesting that because German Antifa in the 30s stemmed from the KPD whose leader had once briefly suggested not beating up Nazis could be useful to them – that BLM should not ally itself with American Antifa, an entirely unrelated movement?

As accurate as say fine southern folk coming out to save their Confederate monuments at the exact same time as nazis holding a protest? Would you say those two groups had a common enemy as well?
