Isn’t the timing the most important part? Saying it will go to zero (soon) is anything but “right”. Saying it will go to zero (anytime in the future) likely is. Are you in favor of being accurate or being precise? I believe most of us, in a situation like this, prefer precise.

In this case, being accurate and precise is a loser strategy if it causes economic panic. You want effective instead, and that might involve persuasion over accuracy. Btw, did you know virologists don't know why ANY virus "just stops," but they all do?
