Once someone guilty of that poor judgment comes out and says they are the example of how to handle the virus, the benefit of the doubt is difficult to maintain. It seems that the nursing homes fought back, were threatened to lose their license. Cuomo had a ship & Javits Center.

But the nursing home situation was a foreseeable consequence as demonstrated by Florida's policy of forbidding return to nursing homes compared to NY's of mandating acceptance. DeSantis' policy was put into force one week before Cuomo's decree.

That is why (among other things) despite a substantially higher population of elderly citizens, Florida had nowhere near the amount of deaths as NY. From the begining, DeSantis focused his efforts on Nursing homes.

And our Pennsylvania Secretary of Health knew the risk because she moved her own mother from a facility prior to issuing the mandate to accept COVID patients back in nursing facilities. She knew the risk. They did it anyway
