President Trump’s strongest leadership qualities are persuasion and risk management. Coincidentally, both of those talents are invisible to the untrained. It’s easy to see why the “artist class” is confused.

Closing travel to only Chinese nationals is not proper risk management to keep a virus from entering your borders. Closing travel completely would have done it. Better yet...NOT closing the pandemic response team office in China would have been even smarter.

The border closing is always my favorite of the facile Trump defenses. Closing a border for Trump is just another Wednesday. He doesn't get credit for trying to stop a pandemic & then spending the next 8 weeks denying the underlying facts that would have led to that decision...
