Fact check this: Compared to the United States, Sweden has a higher life expectancy, lower obesity, a tiny Black population, universal Vitamin D supplementation, and 50% of Swedes live alone, so social distancing is easier. And the U.S. still had fewer deaths per capita.

Ecological fallacy. There are too many other variables to make correlations between any two countries.

America is doing well for it's size and population density. No great, not horrible, but well for it's constraints. Oh and being 950 million N-95 masks SHORT on Day 1 of the Pandemic. Low on PPE too, dependent on China for more. Which didn't come.

I think US is actually doing pretty well. Early estimates 40-80% would get it, 20% hospitalized...bulk needed ICU... the issue was lack of ICU beds..So 140M-280M get it.. if 1% of those die = 1.4 -2.8million dead... so say 300k would be, under circumstances, a good result

@ScottAdamsSays check out https://www.tylervigen.com/spurious-correlations … to find random correlations between unrelated things. It's a good site to visualize the difference between correlation and causation.

If you can't compare countries, can you compare states? Counties? Where's the line?

The more well defined the population the better the data. Smaller is better in generalities. A non-dynamic, well observed population over time is the only way to elucidate causation using statistics.

Better to think in excess deaths. Population 10mil. Average 80000 deaths per year. 5700 excess deaths in Covid period. Now trending below average so the annual excess death will be smaller. Average age of Covid death same as average life expectancy. Horror story?
