We didn't mask in March or April. But we did restrict the number of patients that could come in to the clinic. All routine exams were canceled, only prenatal and urgent cases got appointments. Now we're masked and almost back to "normal" but we're screening everyone .

Healthcare pros are already pre-selected group for age, health and knowledge. At most places during peak corona times medical professionals did in fact mask up. Also documented cases where unmasked caretakers became a source although proving causality is rarely attempted.

I suspect they also are exposed to enough low-level pathogens constantly that they have very robust immune systems.

What if wearing masks all time leads to other things, just like increased cleanliness did? Seems to always be unintended consequences.
