Data Analysis Question: Is it appropriate to compare the U.S. as a whole to individual European countries for coronavirus performance, or should we compare the U.S. to the average of all wealthy countries, or look at each U.S. state individually?

I think one big difference is that in Eu we closed and keep closing and opening the individual country borders according to last 14 infections and putting a lot of friction to the spread of the virus. Dont have that option in US

All comparisons are BS spin. Analytically, you'd have to control for demographic diversity, co-morbidity distributions, nursing home populations, population density, urban vs suburban vs rural, international travel in and out, intra-national movement of people, cultural diffs...

I think the glaring example for everyone to fully take in is Sweden, they didn't do harsh lockdowns and they're averaging less than 1 daily death over the past 7 days. Most days they have zero deaths as of late. They're essentially done with it.
