I need a ruling on this: Is it racist/sexist to avoid hiring someone you reasonably believe has a 90% chance of disliking you personally because of your political views?

Straight white males have no such protections. Least liability (from a legal perspective)

People don’t get successfully sued for not being liked. That’s not a thing.

Once hired, hard to get fired...in large companies. Imho

I am unaware of any state where “at will” employment is not the law. Moreover, as Adam is discussing hiring, rules about firing don’t apply. Even in situation where there is an employment contract only allowing termination for ”good cause” that provision doesn’t apply pre-hire.

"Right To Work" states don't require a reason to fire a person. Most employers nowadays have employees sign away their rights when they are onboarded. Agree to arbitration with the companies "On retainerJudge", agree to no cause no explanation termination. That type of thing.
