How is mask effectiveness still a debate five months into this pandemic? Do we really have no credible data correlating mask use and spread of coronavirus? Here I only care about real world curve-bending, not lab experiments. The lab stuff is nearly all bullshit like this one.https://twitter.com/AlexBerenson/status/1293669103241224197 …

It’s not an argument. It’s a likelihood. That’s why medical professionals that wear them follow protocols. The boxes themselves have warnings about it and in some cases clear statements that they don’t stop viruses like CV.

Cross contamination is a myth? Getting germs on your hands and then rubbing them in your eyes, mouth, or nose is a real thing. Very good studies have shown masks are ineffective and surmise that cross contamination from poor handling procedures is significant.

Recently read a paper that found two issues 1) virus is 0.125 microns and masks will only filter the droplet carrier - not the virus, which still transfers through the mask, in or outward 2) ill fitting masks propel own droplets at greater force either to side/rear or up to eyes

But that's exactly what they told us when they cautioned against the general public wearing masks back in March. And the general public doesn't wear them properly. Generally, they aren't fitted well, they pull them down to talk, they touch them, etc.

That doesn't give us a definitive answer for whether they do anything, but if a prerequisite for their effectiveness is "the majority at least attempt to use proper protocols" then on that basis they can't be accomplishing much.
