Okay, smart people on Twitter, find the errors in this analysis of Sweden as a success story. https://twitter.com/seanmdav/status/1292801780515057665 …

I don’t think that success/failure is the right framing for COVID-19. Sweden just chose to take their losses early and get it over with. They were extremely successful in avoiding the economic and social costs of lockdown.

How did they get it over with if they are nowhere near herd immunity?

I’m not sure what you’re basing your opinion regarding herd immunity on, but the herd immunity threshold can be as low as 6 to 21%, as discussed here.https://wattsupwiththat.com/2020/07/27/why-herd-immunity-to-covid-19-is-reached-much-earlier-than-thought-update/ …

So 3% doesn't get it done, correct? That's where Sweden is at.

I don’t think that we really have any idea what percentage of Sweden’s population has been exposed to the coronavirus, but given the fact that they never had lockdowns or school closures, I would guess that it’s much higher than 3%.

Death rate suggests nowhere near herd.

Their death rate is 570/million - what do you think it would be at herd immunity? Their daily new deaths are near zero - what else would explain this?pic.twitter.com/FFf0TycxAM

Can't get much lower than zero deaths per day... 😀 I honestly can't tell if Scott's apparent paranoia over COVID is a persuasion technique or if he really is terrified of it. It's the same MO as his tweets about global warming.
