Yes, exactly. This is what I have been thinking every time I've been told "well look at the country X". You can't really compare different countries so easily, at least not generally, unless you narrow down the comparison you are doing in an extremely precise way.

The vitamin d thing is a good example. Medical evidence shows that people with severe cases have a very high likelihood of vitamin d deficiency. But people in different countries different amounts of vitamin d, depending on diet as well as sunlight exposure.
