South Korea, France, Italy, Germany, all have FAR fewer cases than we do. How did they do it? By taking the pandemic seriously from the start. We assumed it would be go away and chose not to ramp up testing, contact tracing, etc. It's not the whole solution, but it's a start.

UK did terrible during the first wave. But arguably, their leadership got very bad advice in the beginning.
