After hearing @AlanDersh on Tucker last night, I put the odds of him being guilty of any Epstein-like behavior at zero. Time to close that book.

I sort of agree, but then again he is one of the most brilliant trial lawyers ever; him convincing you of his position in a conversation is to be expected.

Ask yourself if a brilliant defense attorney would claim he only had sex with his wife if it were not true. Would only take one past (unrelated) affair to destroy his credibility. And sex offenders don’t offend only once.

Depends. Sex with women who are paid for it, with part of the deal being (usually implicitly but sometimes explicitly) that they will keep silent, practically always results in the women doing what they were paid to do and not doing what they were paid to not do.

Tell Stormy Daniels that. No sane defense lawyer assumes other people don't blab.

In general, though, wouldn’t men assume that using a prostitute is “safer” from detection and blabbing than having an affair with a woman who might get angry in the context of an unsatisfactory ongoing relationship?

Would you bet your life (literally) on either of them staying silent?

No. But eminent men have used prostitutes throughout history, so I don’t see this as implausible, if he perceived her as a prostitute rather than as a trafficking victim.

I don’t have an accuser, as far as I know. (I have not heard Dershowitz’s accuser testify so withhold judgment on her credibility.)
