Yes some blacks' ancestors were sold as slaves by their fellow Africans to various countries hundreds of years ago until the practice was abolished in the world thanks to its rejection by the west. Many white Americans died in the American Civil War trying to abolish it.

And many White Americans on the losing side continue to find ways to disenfranchise blacks and ignore their rights. A hundred years after that war, there were separate water fountains and blacks not allowed to sit at counters in diners. Lot's of racism.. not hundreds of years ago

Americans voted to change that 60 years ago. A black man won two terms as President. If I walk down the street and perceive that I'm being discriminated against because of factor X then I am making a decision to perceive the world like that.

Obama's election didn't magically bring an end to racism. Racism is directed against blacks regardless of whether they perceive it. If they don't get a job because they are black, they aren't told that's the reason.

Obama's election proved a majority of whites would vote for the right candidate regardless of race. Sane goes for getting a job. Then you have another group blaming capitalism. How about taking some individual responsibility and quit blaming everyone else?

Obama's election proved that the majority of whites aren't racist.. but a significant minority of white racist refused to accept the legitimacy of a black president. All that "I want my country back" was about Obama being black. The racists didn't disappear. They're still here.

Would argue that was about politics not race.

Politics tipped it because Bush and the GOP f*cked up the economy in 2008, and McCain f*cked himself picking an idiot like Palin. ...but the racists still voted against Obama... and love Trump.

The left likes to smearTrump with racism accusations.. without offering any proof. Meanwhile Trump enacted more legislation specifically designed to help blacks than Obama did in 8 years or Biden in a lifetime in Washington.

That's complete nonsense. Trump regularly tweets and retweets talking point from white supremacy sites, and uses racial dog whistles in his speeches. This is no coincidence. Trump's defenses of the Confederate flag support for his racist followers.

Confirmation bias feels exactly like that.
