I've decided to reclaim some of the free speech I have been losing lately. Here's my free speech opinion for today: "White privilege" is a racist term. In my opinion, anyone who uses it is either a racist, an idiot, or an asshole. "Rich privilege" is a thing.

Yes, though "clever" is pretty rare in that domain. Most rich people are just rich, not high status. And many high status people, while not poor or even middle class, don't really have real money.

Clever is relative. Doesn't take much cleverness to donate to a hospital and ask them to name the new wing after you. And if you have status in this country, you can always monetize it.

I would say it's more "elite privilege" than "rich privilege". To me, "rich privilege" appears limited to the rich. "Elite privilege" includes the wealthy and the well-connected regardless of financial status.

Great point. Power is the root of all evil, not money. Money is just a manifestation of power.

Nice breakdown. That also stretches out to friends in cases like Jesse smollet. Hes no big actor, but has very influential friends. Then you have both money and status involved in the College Scandal. All comes back to powerful people pulling the strings. Rich Privilege.
