Does Politifact routinely omit its Truth-o-Meter ratings on some stories, or only on the Fine People Hoax which it debunked by showing the whole transcript? Just an oversight? See for yourself:https://www.politifact.com/article/2019/apr/26/context-trumps-very-fine-people-both-sides-remarks/ …

Were there fine people protesting the removal of the Confederate statues?

They tried. I interviewed a few. When they arrived, the police herded them to safety away from the trouble and they went home. They disavowed racists in direct language but preferred keeping statues.

Is wanting to keep Confederate statues the sign of a fine person?

Compared to you? Probably. Personally, I oppose statues.

I feel like the truth or falsity of the “fine people on both sides” thing ultimately rests heavily on a subjective assessment of what it means to be a “fine person.” A lot of people would say supporting Confederate statues is not fine, full stop.

You should tell the approximately 25% of African-Americans who preferred keeping the statues (at the time) what you think of them.

I never expressed an opinion on anything one way or another. I just think this idea that Trump was objectively correct in saying there were “fine people” on both sides is very subjective, and it’s fine for some people to find that statement offensive.

Fair enough, but your point is unrelated to the fact being checked because the president states his assumptions and spoke to them.
