You should not get medical advice from cartoonists. But if you did, China travel would have closed a week earlier, non-medical masks would have been encouraged at the start, and tens of thousands of lives would have been saved.

I've always thought of you as having an open mind. You appear to in your books (of which I own several) and routinely give as Christmas gifts. Maybe take a read because it's loaded with facts and logic and references to studies published by CDC and NIH.

Also I'm going to screenshot this and send to my son because he's a huge fan - watching your live broadcast every day (probably because of the books I gave him early on). Your reply was unnecessary rude, dismissive and intellectually feeble but it was a response.

I am picturing you not reading that. It has been the best 5 minutes of my Saturday!

Watch me read it and note that it is not a study of mask efficacy among the general public but among health care workers, who are in a much more infectious environment. The difference in infection between those using surgical vs. cloth masks was 2 percentage points or about 5%.

The primary study referenced in my article was a CDC published "pool analysis" of 10 trials of mask use by the general public. They concluded: "There is limited evidence for masks effectiveness in preventing influenza virus transmission.” https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/26/5/19-0994_article?fbclid=IwAR2V1hPqN0WKb2kXVExP_1UE9ARvru6mtPZvZN0w1jx0S3l3fXLhxMP_bXs …
