As long as those checks include the other points you made - does the system impact poor people differently? Would we be better served on traffic fines starting where they are now, and sliding scale DOWN with legitimate income substantiation petitions?

Even if Marxists did use race and gender (have no idea if true), don't assume we are all Marxists. Those of us speaking against racism are anti-racism. Adding other labels just hinders our dialog (if I'm a "Marxist" you can't talk to me and I'm pretty far from being a "Marxist")

Racism exists, it's not confined to any segment of society. I don't like "systemic racism", it implies original sin without the chance for redemption. But maybe that's just my Catholic upbringing. I think everyone is entitled to redemption if they acknowledge and repent their sin

Unfortunately, Paul, that's the characteristic of a system. Stopping the problem is incredibly difficult because so may layers of problems are involved and they are interconnected. The important piece to realize is that systemic racism is not about one person's racism.
