Three things I learned from the #BLM protests:
- No one can point to an example of systemic racism (except against whites and asian-Americans)
- Resisting arrest is the only thing that gets you killed by cops
- Reparations would be negative if you calculated them correctly

No, that’s a good idea and I support it. I’m trying to show that thesis is a current example of systemic racism in the US.

Seems you are using the definition of "systemic" as "widespread." That has no extra value over "racism" which everyone agrees is widespread in PEOPLE. But not in our systems by their design.

I am not doing that, I’m saying that even though the US justice system is designed as not racist, equal for all, disparate outcomes for white/black defendants for equivalent crimes show the system is racist. Systemic racism. If I’m wrong, can you please define systemic racism?

Let's see if I can fit your example into my definition. If the justice "system" is designed to include human judgment, and human judgment is always racist (probably true) then the system is racist by design?

If we notice racist outcomes in the justice system, e.g., worse outcomes for black ppl under War on Drugs, and we do not actively correct those, then it is systemic racism. Individual unaware bias of judges may not itself be systemic racism, but unchecked cumulative effects are.

I'd want to know more about sentencing guidelines to have a useful opinion on this.

These kind of stats can be skewed as racist by removing key details in the sentencing guidelines. A longer sentence for the same crime is the result of a convicted person having more prior convictions on their record. It appears minorities get many *more* chances in the system.
