"White privilege" as a concept is part useful context and part bullying.

Two of the stories are in "How To Fail" and I believe the companies were IBM and AT&T. This was, IIRC, the late '80s, in case you were wondering how long "white privilege" has been excusing racism against whites.

I lost 2 opportunities w/the State of TX. Interviewer apologized, told me I was totally qualified for job but I was white & he was req'd to hire a black person. 2nd was a black Supv who told me she was req'd to interview me since I was qualified, but she ONLY hired black people.
