Are there any countries routinely using Hydroxychloroquine for early symptoms that are having worse-than-average outcomes overall? I only know of the better-than-average cases such as Cost Rico.

I would think so. "In the group of 88 patients recovered up to Friday, April 17, the use of this drug has allowed covid-19 control tests to be negative" With a very high recovery rate, the number of infected individuals who can spread it is reduced.https://twitter.com/insightlogic1/status/1259522282705346561?s=19 …

Not sure what that has to do with spread. If they had died, they wouldn’t have been able to spread it either.

Not necessarily if they are not using it prophylactically. Those who are positive could still spread it before they started taking the medication. There could be less spread bc people aren't infectious as long, but I would think once people get sick, they are isolated.

If it reduced the shedding days by half it would cut risk of spread.

Not if it reduces the symptoms without preventing infection. Something like Theraflu might make your case of the Flu milder, but it won't keep you from spreading it, especially since you don't start taking it till after you have the symptoms.

If we knew it worked then we would know if it works. Scott teaches us what a tautology is.

Exactly. Shorter duration, lower probability of infecting others.
