If the US began social distancing a week earlier than it did, it could've prevented at least 36,000 coronavirus deaths, new research shows. If the US locked down two weeks earlier, it could've prevented 84% of deaths and 82% of cases, the research shows. https://cnn.it/2LP5xHX

two weeks earlier, on Feb 29, CDC was saying that virus was "NOT spreading in the community". No way that Trump or any other politician could institute lockdown as long as CDC was communicating this message to public. If people are going to second-guess, it should begin with CDC.pic.twitter.com/dg0sPCYi8H

Yup. But I assume the CDC was lied to by China.

You know, CDC is not co-dependent on China. Do they not have the educational credentials to figure out China was lying? How about we scrap the CDC & replace it with ZeroHedge? They got more right on this early on than the CDC simply by THINKING.

Incompetence is the easiest explanation. The CDC did a poor job assessing risk.

WHO should have sounded the alarm. CDC should have sounded the alarm. Anthony Fauci wrote this article 2004. Should have done what he was preaching then. Notice he is still calling for vaccines.pic.twitter.com/lbKBFJGKCU

WHO did sound the alarm. Unfortunately, Fauci and US health establishment dithered.

while Taiwan did excellent job, the idea that they didn't pay attention to China or WHO is a myth. Truth is that Taiwan, who had suffered from SARS, took WHO and Wuhan health Dec 31 announcements of anomalous pneumonias very seriously and immediately instituted precautions.

I think the simplest explanation is CDC incompetence. Repeatedly demonstrated.

whether COVID19 was "spreading in the community" in US as of Feb 29, 2020 has nothing to do with China and everything to do with CDC. And if CDC got this so badly wrong, how can they second-guess any comment on Jan 14. By Jan 21, China issued dire warnings.
