If hydroxychloroquine were as dangerous as they say, you'd think the media would be delighted @realDonaldTrump is taking it.

Maybe you would think. Methinks the media (the responsible ones) is afraid (similar to the masks issue) there may be a shortage of HCQ for the non-covid cases where it IS useful. Methinks POTUSVSG should keep his medical advice to himself. Doctors are pretty smart. He isn't.

You fell for the framing that this is "medical advice" and not risk management. As medical advice, it's sketchy. As risk management, it is reasonable even if wrong. Trump is doing the latter.

Didn't we hear for years taking an aspirin daily was good for your heart? And now it's not. I can understand making an educated guess. Ten years from now we'll probably still be debating #hydroxychloriquine

That letter describes risk management. Risk/Benefit ratio. It happens with every prescription I write. Look at that particular person, their situation, the treatment, potential adverse reactions, then make a decision. @ScottAdamsSays is not wrong about this.

Here is a study that says the magic ingredient may be zinc sulfate in combination with HCQ as a prophylaxis - a cocktail: Source: (YouTube removed the MedCram video, unfortunately. They seem to be purging HCQ videos, even if done by doctors in the field.)pic.twitter.com/J9ESWKcxfN

The source for that study, for what it is worth. Everything is still very preliminary, however, possibly promising in the future:pic.twitter.com/gu4VOPMmMr

I agree and does anyone believe the POTUS is self medicating? Is he likely taking the meds on his doctor's prescription and advice?

I mean, a 1200mg dose can cause a heart attack in a geriatric patient. He's not even taking it the way it's supposed to be taken. As a potential treatment or prophylaxis for COVID, it's not recommended to take it for more than 4 days without allowing 900 hours for it to clear.
