Where's a prediction model that includes deaths from #COVID19 but also deaths from economic decline so I can see the crossover date? If you don't see that, don't let anyone tell you they are managing things "with data." That would be complete and utter bullshit.

The economic problem is: maximize back-to-work under the constraint that COVID-19 deaths remain below the threshold X. Data can help us to pick an X that we think is controllable and sustainable.
-
It doesn't help much if we are looking at the same data and drawing opposite conclusions about whether or not the time is right.

"using (some) data" is still using data, even if it's not "using *all* the data"... Why don't you say "all relevant data" or something to point out their lack?
-
Because it shouldn’t have to be said that if you are only using SOME of the data, you are just guessing anyway

Even if we have models based on data, it is important to realize that is still guessing, Scott.

Unfortunately guessing is all we have, waiting for a model is like waiting for a vaccine . I've done a review of most of the major papers that should be helpful , eg correlations between unemployment & morbidity , nothing I can find is useful
