Everyone Smart: We need more testing! Everyone Smarter: If we could do that much testing, we'd already be doing it. It isn't a real option. The tests do not exist in sufficient quantity and will not exist before the economy loses its pulse.https://twitter.com/michaelkruse/status/1258721746888392705 …

“You know, if we were doing the things that the exemplar countries are doing, like Germany, we would be testing,” @melindagates tells @politico. “We would be testing ... and you’d be doing contact tracing.” https://politi.co/2AaJ4CO

Everyone Smarterer: Trump's promises for sufficient testing are just as empty as all his other rhetoric. We are all on our own and need to figure something else out.

He promised sufficient testing for the phases, which appears to be true(ish). The amount of testing you need to get on top of the virus is nowhere near practical in the USA yet. Or soon.

If this were true, then other countries would not have been able to test all of their citizens and get to zero

Wouldn't we have to test each person every 2 weeks until the new cases fall to almost zero? 25 million a day. Yeah easy peasy.

I've been wondering why a simpler test hasn't been developed and mass produced by now. FDA regulations preventing it?

Tests exist in quantity—bottleneck is in processing. Not enough capacity to process at level people want...takes time to build out the increase
