Proposing a new concept. It’s called your “Death Number.” Your Death Number is the number of deaths of your fellow Americans you’re willing to accept to save, say, 1000 jobs. For context, we’ve lost around 461 jobs for every 1 death so far. What’s *your* Death Number?

I once demanded people give me their acceptable death count to go back to work in order to be deemed credible in the conversation. Today I see no options but to accept the death toll (whatever) that comes from opening. It is what it is.

That’s an honest assessment. I don’t agree with it, but I comprehend what I imagine to be your reasoning. If your statement is based on the reasoning I think it is, then it’s not a monstrous view. It’s a sad one. But it’s your personal balance of competing interests/implications.

My view depends on the assumption that there is a "too late" for the economy, and we don't know where it is, but it's near. If I believed waiting would bring better tools (testing, meds, etc.) then that would be different. I no longer believe those are coming on time.

I think the virus will dissipate where weather gets hot......and people will stop blaming Trump for New York’s medical malpractice...& the economy will slowly recover over the next 3 months, then really take off.

I would sacrifice your life for one job. Any job. Street sweeper. Hatchling sexer. Walmart Greeter. The Scott Adams ratio is 1-1. After we run out of Scott Adamses, then we can recalibrate.
