True. But ask yourself if winning was an option. The crisis asks our leader to decide who among us lives and who dies. The presidency is the wrong tool for that job.https://twitter.com/Cernovich/status/1257705963043164160 …

Trump lost the messaging war on coronavirus in a way that I've never seen.

Yes, the winning play was to get to coronavirus early, lay marker on the table, and then if Dems don't come to heel, you lay blame to them. Instead Trump was outmaneuvered, and Dems took the winning play.pic.twitter.com/fYPRTik7Rl

We are operating on different assumptions. I don't think the decision to be aggressive early was obvious back then, even to Fauci. Moreover, would have made no difference what he did when. The virus was coming, and nothing then or now will stop it.

Absolutely agree with you. By the time even China's outbreak was just beginning to gain any attention, it was already too late.

In the future, it's going to be about prevention rather than reaction. Once it's out, it's out. We have to have safeguards in place that even if another one does get out, it can't get here. I don't know if that's even possible today.

It's a "winning play" only because their objective was never to defeat the virus, but to use it to tank the economy, scare everyone, and "restructure things" so they can come back into power - and stay there forever.

Soon to say. Closing earlier seems the best bet NOW. How about in 3 months time, when many will start think that we overreacted? (Bacause the lockdown worked or because it was unnecessary is a fact that won’t matter)
