Imagine a phone company that took your name out of the phone book if they didn't like your politics, or took away your phone service for legally-protected speech they didn't happen to like. We don't need Twitter, we need a Twitter replacement.

We need a public replacement to Twitter, as part of the whole federal takeover of the internet and voting and identity rights. The internet is a Post Road, and was created by the government, so our letters should be secure and private and affordable and accessible to all.

Scott if you were to hazard a guess what percentage of deliberate twitter blocking (by the company itself) would you say is inappropriate and politically motivated? Or would guessing at that just be impossible to do? I would put it below 2%.

The media was supposed to be the 4th establishment, but it has failed in its charge. Social media, in all of its forms, is inheriting that mantle, regardless of whether it is fit to do so. Twitter is just emblematic of the whole fiasco.
