According to the CDC, an estimated 24,000 Americans have died from the flu this season—down from 80,000 flu deaths in 2018.

I see it is written on the CDC site estimate of 24000 - 62000 flu deaths this season. Remember that there is a huge lag with real death data reported. We will be able to see at the end of the year from all causes and compare it to previous years.

Good point. Also lots of lagging deaths from untreated stay-home people.
