This is a debate worth having. My starting opinion is that yelling fire in a crowded theater is data too. We do draw lines when it makes obvious sense to do so. Is this one of those situations, given that the fate of civilization is on the line? Who decides?https://twitter.com/darkenrahl86/status/1255176622082162690 …

But we’re still behaving like the original model is even a possibility when it’s inarguably not

Everyone goes back to normal without social distancing, yeah, it's still a possibility.

The initial exponent was a little too big, maybe, but that does not disprove exponential growth... 9 deaths week one, 19,000 week eight.

Very true, and quickly proven or disproven. Opinion doesn't play a role for very long.

Yea they have skin in the game. Either reputation, monetary or both. That leads to less than the best debate. We as humans suffer from a humility deficiency. Maybe that's why we work so hard to humiliate each other.

Admit to stretching the analogy. Maybe it was smaller fire than thought, and containable. We couldn't be sure; some fool turned off the fire alarm. Another yelled "fire." Either way we had to evacuate. Relevant issue is not the fire. It's when we can the show start again.
