I think what Brian is really afraid of is that all of his trusted sources have misled him. By admitting to be wrong here, he has to admit that a lot of the news he gets is most likely unreliable. Tough position to be in.

I think someone famous once said that people don’t change their minds and admit that they were wrong. That’s not a thing. They will continue to go through the mental gymnastics required to believe that Trump recommended that people inject Lysol until the day they die.
