Whenever I point out the #loserthink mind reading, the person insists that they can, in fact, read minds.
What do I say to that? @scottadamssays

what if they get it right?

Use one that includes a decimal point. They won’t.

@ScottAdamsSays I’ve been having a tough time reconciling how persuasion skills are successful which implies some “theory of mind” but at the same time we never really know what someone is thinking. Eg I like the middle ground of:... -
“I can not read men’s minds. That being said, I know of no better proxy than their actions.” (Btw, read Loserthink and understand that there are multiple variables/different parts of the story etc)

To that they say that reading between the lines and inferring secret motives is different than guessing numbers.

Here's an Amazing Kreskin mind-reading trick (only works with a big audience). Think of a number between 1 and 50. Both digits must be odd, like 15, but they can't be the same, so 11 wouldn't be any good. What number do you think the vast majority of the audience will think of?
-
Well, I thought of 13, probably because my mind had been primed with 11 and 15.
