To be fair, two months ago, we were impoverished for good data and guessing at mortality rates. Now that we are starting to see better data come in, we can re-evaluate our strategies and adjust course.

Three reasons herd immunity is herd inanity: 1. There is no herd immunity until there is individual immunity. We have no conclusive evidence of sustained immunity. 2. The virus mutates much faster than recent pandemics, including flu. 3. The models are wrong, by definition.

Good points. Your #2 means you would not likely be able to have a vaccine either so we might as well get on with living with this thing. Your choice then becomes everyone having it after bankrupting themselves, vs everyone having it while the economy still works.

The issue I have with this video is that they don’t account for testing bias. Their equation is: (number positive/number tested) x population. BUT: you can’t get tested unless you have symptoms. That will give a much higher positive rate than a random sample of people.
