Pro Tip: If you find yourself bleating, "But he literally said that," you are demonstrating that you don't understand how words work. Meaning requires context. It never matters what someone LITERALLY said. It only matters what they meant, which context can help you discern.

I thought it made “perfect sense” to those with prior knowledge of the medical technology in question?

Could you please replay the relevant section of the press conference on the Periscope and highlight the context you say people are missing? The whole issue doesn't seem that important to me, but you're very persistent.

-
Context. The briefing was about virus on objects. People are looking for gotcha mr President! The clear instruction to inject disinfectant came from the press amplifying Trumps garbled question.

I think it’s a larger indictment of Trump that people could CREDIBLY believe that he could say that. Not because they are gullible but rather they believe he IS CAPABLE of saying something that’s totally batshit. It also doesn’t help when he admits to saying it the next day.
-
In other words, Gullible people are gullible. Consider how many gullible people are employed by CNN.

This is a gotcha. Even if Trump was not clear and asking a question! The news media has been very clear in their head lines, and are hoping for cases of people inject disinfectant to complete the cycle!
-
Not sure how he should deal with the world wide pile on! But at least he can all see how the press operate as one, and none are on his side. They eager for a gaff to pile on to!
