The point @prageru is making, likely drawing from my research, is that climate livability is improving as CO2 levels rise. Saying climate is “a problem that is growing daily” ignores that reality and the mechanisms behind it (e.g., the overwhelming factor of climate mastery).https://twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays/status/1253011408943329280 …

Why do so many conservatives evaluate the future size of a problem that is growing daily by how it looks today? Same with #Coronavirus. Explain in comments please. https://twitter.com/prageru/status/1253008916880830464 …

Is more CO2 better no matter how much more you have? The past does not predict the future.

CO2 doesn’t control the climate, and is still dangerously low by evolutionary standards. The planet was in CO2 starvation mode only 20,000 years ago, very recently on a geologic time scale. There is no danger posed by rising CO2 levels.pic.twitter.com/NYTyVo7flL

You’re almost asking the correct question which is what is the optimal level of CO2 in the atmosphere and what factors should be considered to evaluate this? My guess is 2-3x current levels is still sub optimal on the low side. Going beyond this is beyond our grasp.

I like CO2, it makes my drinks fizzy. More fizzy drinks=better human flourishing. The only good thing about Covid 19 is it's pushed climate change off the agenda for a while.

This is not a conversation to be had at 280 characters at a time. Why don’t you interview Alex on your Periscope and he will explain what the optimal level of CO2 for human flourishing is.

You're right. But at the same time predictions of the future are being used to shape the present. Also the Earth has been cold with high CO2 and the Earth has been warm with low CO2. So CO2 levels do not control temperatures.

Modern warming isn't part of a known cycle like ice ages (orbital trends are pointed in a cooling direction) The physics-based view of earth can explain past cycles as well as current AGW spike. There isn't an alternative theory or view that can do eitherhttps://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1029/2019GL085378 …

No, we haven't, if by 'we' you mean humans. Human civilization with its large global population (exposed to heat increase and other risks in many places), seaside settlements, dependence on ocean food sources etc. has never seen CO2 levels or aggressive warming on this scale.pic.twitter.com/AX82Cx26rY
