I'm not so sure a book hastily written since the shutdown started (going on about a month) can be trusted to give us a long term outlook. But that's just me, I guess.

My factory worker daughter got a $1,200 severance, $1,700 in stimulus and is making $300 more per week in UE than when she was working. She is loving the economy. Apparently we don't need to work and just print money! Who knew!? (other than Andrew Yang?)

A local government employer is paying people to stay home and pretend to work. It sure beats going into the office and pretending to work. As long as they keep paying them, they'll keep pretending.

If the feds provided all auto and home insurance, rates would be cut in half and we'd need 1/3rd the number of agents. Why don't we do that? Insurance is mostly about advertising, paying agents and admin overhead. We could eliminate all that.
