1/ I’d say who cares? The number that matters is hospital and ICU beds in use and capacity, and despite the fact Florida locked down weeks later than California (remember, @nytimes @DLeonhardt projected disaster) - it has ~ exactly as many beds open as it did 10 days ago...https://twitter.com/BadFoxGraphics/status/1249157508092100608 …

      I wonder what @brithume and his Florida-tweeting pal @AlexBerenson would have to say about widespread underreporting of COVID-19 cases in Florida 🤔 @jkbjournalist @MiamiHerald https://twitter.com/brithume/status/1246478349284884481 … pic.twitter.com/yCu3iYLFmE

2/ Look, the ENTIRE MEDIA has paid attention to the wrong metrics. That’s an understandable mistake. But stretching facts as a crisis does NOT unfold to try to pretend one is still unfolding - that is not.pic.twitter.com/s9kvFpOqMI

How does one distinguish between a pandemic that is an overestimated dud and one that would kill millions if not for the ongoing mitigation that 100% of experts say works great? Comparing states won’t work. Too many variables.

One thing I would add, experts say it works great but this is the first time its ever been tried in human history. Their belief it works great is based on china which we have no idea if it worked or not. It seems to be working but we will never know while we are living it

China freaked out when the outbreak started. Their response was evidence of unmitigated terror. They hosed down buildings, streets and people with fumigants, built massive field hospitals, and boarded people up in their apartments. It looked like an accidental weapon release.

It was reasonable to believe the terror that we saw the Chinese Government express when they were too frightened to worry about what the rest of the world was seeing.

If you look around, you will see that serious experts (i.e., those outside of the "100%") acknowledge that the only way of eradicating the virus is to achieve herd immunity.
