People think #coronavirus deaths are overcounted because so many of the dead had other major health issues. But I doubt this is as big of a problem as people think. Try some examples in this thread.

Track ALL-CAUSE mortality... It adjusts for everything, the precise amount of each +/- adjustment is impossible to know (trauma, suicide, etc.), especially as compared to what would have otherwise occurred. The bigger ? is the impact to the economy vs. precision of model...

As a former ED doc, yes, i could usually tell what was the precipitating factor that caused death. If the patient was in a car wreck, their head split in two parts, AND they tested positive for coronavirus.. or if they got drunk, fell off the boat, were submerged... Not CV19
