NYC is 2.6% of the population of the United States and they have 7,076 #coronavirus deaths so far. If the rest of the country were no more successful at avoiding deaths than NYC, what would be the national death toll?

Why make that analogy? Most if not all of the rest of the country is nothing like NYC in terms of population density plus its position as an entry point for the rest of the world

NYC was late to mitigate, but did. Gives us a reference point.

Homeless people spreading Corona Virus in subways were exempt from any mitigation. De Blasio left them on the subways to spread Corona Virus:https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2020/03/31/coronavirus-homeless-new-york-city-subways-department-of-homeless-services/ …

....and their genius mayor told them to ignore the virus, get out and live their lives.. so there's that.

They were two days behind California. Don’t think those two days are the reason for the disparity

I wonder what is the relative lung health of a New Yorker or LA resident versus other cities? I’d guess with the variety of pollutants in the large cities lungs would be more compromised.

It was only 3 days later than California, but California has very much lower covid mortality cases. Models are wrong..death rate averages are same as 2019

A population that dense cannot mitigate an aerosol virusnwithout putting everyone in a clean room environment.
