Relative was on a ventilator in nyc two days ago. He’s 75, and in normal circumstances, could’ve been saved. They strongly encouraged the family to undergo hospice (and what wasn’t said) so someone younger and healthier could have the ventilator. If in nyc, don’t get sick.

It’s a system based on age, not status or money. This man has (soon to be had) both. At his age he was already a lost cause as soon as he needed the ventilator when so many younger ones need it as well. Will they put that in the papers? Probably not. Is it unethical? Probably so
