They need 2450 to cover 1st week. They’re 250 shy on 7th day. Assuming everyone that gets on a ventilator survives and uses it for full 7 days.

The questions states "the average patient" so some patients need less and some more. The problem is not to be solved stated as it is, can only give an estimate based on assumptions the reader makes.
