"trading of freedoms for protections" From a virus that has perhaps killed 4,000 people? Respectfully 🙏Nah. I blame "you's" for this loss of freedoms, and I'm being dragged along unfortunatelyhttps://twitter.com/APJulian/status/1245388938082242563 …

Trump himself is now saying it is much worse. The point of it all is this. The social contract necessarily requires the trading of freedoms for protections. In modern society, public health is very much part of the protections we expect and government has an obligation to provide

False choice. The real choice is trading freedom for 4,000 dead so far and a million to go. Unless science is wrong.

Perhaps, do you feel such things should be a public discussion and vigorous debated? it is what Congress is for, established as the public's tribune. It seems panic always takes away rights/privileges and rarely bestows them. My take = fastest roll-up of power in human history

You can’t predict a million, or any other number unless you know how many have had it. Fake number. This seems like a sanctuary city thing to me.

If by "science" you mean humans interpreting data, yes, it's wrong all the time. As a matter of fact, it's wrong much more often than it's right.

How about society reframe the choice as Civic Duty instead of draconian government destruction of civil liberties? The enemy of humankind is the virus, not each other.
