Doctors suspect hydroxychloroquine+Azythromicin might work best if taken before infection, or early on. But I'll bet the drug trials are only for patients with more advanced infections. My logic here is that it would be the dumbest thing we could do, so. . . probably.

If a million deaths is acceptable, you are right.

If disregarding the whole constitution and subsequent amendments is acceptable, you are right.

No that is EXACTLY for what martial law as per consitution was made for. WW2 had a mortality rate for USA of 0.32%, this has a mortality rate up to 10% when the health care systems get overloaded.

When net deaths reaches zero, stop. Net deaths include those avoided by lower seasonal flu, reduced traffic fatalities, reduced homicide rate, etc.

Seasonal flu, as per CDC is 12,000 – 61,000. Take 61.000 / 365 days = 165 dead per day. Covid (US only) is 4,081 in about a week 583 dead per day. And this is only the beginning. (15-30 day lag) Stop comparing apples and oranges.

But seriously, how many deaths are acceptable to return the world to normal? Or, specifically, to return the USA to freedom? There has to be a number, right?

About 600k people die in the US of heart disease every year. That may be a small percentage of the overall population too, but I like to take care of my health to try and avoid heart disease anyway. That's NOT insanity.

If society didn't put a price on lives the speed limit would be 10 miles an hour.
